New Einstein Center of Catalysis

The Einstein Foundation Berlin announced that there will be another Einstein Center next to ECMath at TU's Faculty II: Einstein Center of Catalysis – EC²!

Based on the interdisciplinary and multi-institutional research done in the excellence cluster Unifying Concepts in Catalysis (UniCat), the new Einstein Center will focus on the development and understanding of methods that form the basis of the dynamics in chemical and biological catalysts.

Funding from the Einstein Foundation will begin in January 2016 and will continue for up to five years. TU Berlin is once again the hosting institution and UniCat chair Professor Matthias Driess will continue as chair for the EC². Further partners in the Einstein center will be Charité-Universitätsmedizin, FU and HU Berlin as well as the Fritz-Haber-Institute of the Max-Planck-Society, the Leibniz-Institute for Molecular Pharmacologie Berlin, the Leibniz-Institute for Analytical Sciences Berlin, the Helmholtz Center Berlin and the UniCat-BASF Joint Lab.
