Appointments

The Office for Academic Affairs accompanies the entire appointment process at the Faculty. Beginning with the preparation of the decision on the assignment of a professorship in the Faculty Council, the Faculty then forwards the process to the central committees of the TU Berlin (Structural Commission, Academic Senate, Presidium).

Once agreement has been reached with the Senate Chancellery - Science and Research - and the position has been allocated by the Human Resources Service of the TU Berlin, the call for applications is initiated in the Office for Academic Affairs. At the same time, the Appointment Committee is formed by the Faculty Council and its constituent meeting is organised.

The incoming applications are processed in the Office for Academic Affairs and are handed over to the chair of the Appointment Committee after the application deadline. The entire work of the Appointment Committee is supported by the Office for Academic Affairs in cooperation with the chair of the Appointment Committee. Templates and information materials are made available and advice is provided on individual issues in a timely manner. Finally, the final report of the Appointment Committee and the resulting appointment recommendation are submitted to the Faculty Council for resolution and forwarded to the central committees of the TU Berlin.
