Personnel applications for doctoral research assistants (post-docs)

The amendment to the Berlin Higher Education Act went into effect on July 16, 2022. This means that the regulation of § 110 paragraph 6 sentence 2 BerlHG, which came into force in September 2021, has been changed.

In principle, the amended regulation provides for a restriction to doctoral academic staff in qualification positions and, in Section 126 f BerlHG, a transitional regulation for the application of Section 110, Paragraph 6, Sentences 2-4. As of October 1, 2023, the obligation to agree on a follow-up commitment applies to hires and extensions with doctoral academic staff in qualification positions. Further details are regulated by a statute to be drawn up by the TU Berlin, which must come into force by September 30, 2023 at the latest.

Third-party funding processes involving PostDocs can thus be forwarded directly to II T Z in the usual way.

Wording of the amendment:

§ 110 Abs. 6 Satz 2-4:

Oktober 2023 erfolgen. Satzungen nach § 110 Absatz 6 Satz 4 müssen spätestens am 30. September 2023 in Kraft treten."
