Erasmus+ KA 107 Social top-up & Extra funding
Erasmus+ promotes equality of opportunity and inclusion. It seeks to make it easier for participants with disabilities and students wishing to complete a stay abroad with their children to access the program by providing additional financial support. The following options for extra funding are available for both outgoing and incoming scholarship holders.
|Students with a degree of disability (DoD)
of more than 30 as well as students with children can receive a
social top-up of EUR 200 per month.
This money is provided from the lead partner´s funding (TU
Please note that this
top-up is for funded mobilities starting with Erasmus+ KA 107 2019
(period 2019-2022). Due to the terms of the program, funded mobilities

| Additional funding to cover any
extra costs arising from a stay abroad can be applied for
from the NA DAAD for students and university staff with a severe
disability or chronic illness (minimum DoD of 50). |
The maximum sum available for individual extra funding from Erasmus+ is EUR 10,000 for the entire funding period of a mobility.
Before starting your mobility: Individual additional costs not covered by health insurers, the department of social welfare, BAföG, studierendenWERK Berlin, etc. will be assumed by Erasmus+. In order to obtain approval for funding in good time, it is essential to clarify the situation with the relevant institutions well in advance. Funding is available to cover additional travel costs, local travel costs, accommodation, childcare or other assistance, special learning material, etc.
Please indicate when applying if you have a disability or a chronic illness. Members of TU Berlin should provide a copy of their degree of disability as proof. Incoming scholarship holders require a medical certificate in English, on the basis of which TU Berlin International Projects will assess their degree of disability.
Applications for additional funding for both outgoing and incoming scholarship holders are submitted via International Projects in cooperation with the scholarship holder. You can apply for additional funding once you have received approval for regular funding from Erasmus+ KA 107. You must ensure, however, that you apply before commencing your stay abroad. Retroactive funding is not possible. Applications for additional requirements must be received by the NA DAAD at least two months before the start of your stay abroad. Please also be aware that International Projects requires at least one further month to process applications.
After your stay abroad, we require original copies of proof of additional costs (plane tickets, rental contracts, contracts for childcare and other assistance, purchase of material, etc.).
You are responsible for preparing and organizing your stay abroad yourself. Please ensure that you give yourself sufficient time to acquaint yourself with the conditions in the country of your visit and make all arrangements necessary to ensure your stay is successful (find suitable accommodation, make sure you have the funding you require, organize local childcare and other assistance as needed).
International Projects is happy to help you with your preparations and is here to answer any questions you have!
