Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2: Current Information

As of 19 April 2022 the Dean's Office and the team of the Faculty-Service-Center will return to the office under strict compliance with the hygiene regulations of the TU Berlin and also work mobile.

Requirement to wear a mask in University buildings

Wearing a mask is a highly effective measure for preventing personal infection and that of others. As such, TU Berlin continues to require all persons to wear at least a medical mask (preferably an FFP2 mask) in all University buildings.

University members and students are further expressly requested to:

  • observe hygiene regulations at all times
  • remain home when displaying cold symptoms
  • regularly test (this includes vaccinated and recovered individuals)
  • avoid unnecessary contact

Prof. Dr. Olga Smirnova receives ERC-Advanced Grant from the European Research Council

The Faculty II - Mathematics and Natural Sciences congratulates Prof. Dr. Olga Smirnova on receiving an ERC-Advanced Grant from the European Research Council on the topic "Ultrafast molecular chirality: twisting light to twist electrons on ultrafast time scale".

Eight of the prestigious Advanced Grants of the European Research Council (ERC) with a total funding of up to 20 million euros go to researchers in Berlin. This was announced by the ERC on Tuesday, April 26.

This funding instrument, which provides for funding of up to 2.5 million euros each over a funding period of up to 5 years, will be used to carry out pioneering projects in Berlin at Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Charité Universitätsmedizin, the Max Delbrück Center, the German Rheumatism Research Center Berlin, and Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. - including in the fields of human genetics, neuroscience, and computer graphics.

The ERC grants are the highest endowed European research grants for individuals and at the same time the most important European award for outstanding researchers. They have been awarded annually since 2007 for the implementation of groundbreaking research projects.

Welcome to summer semester 2022

On April 19, 2022, the lecture period for the summer semester 2022 begins at TU Berlin.

We welcome you from April 11-14, 2022 with the week for the start of the semester!

Contact the experts of the TU Berlin to clarify your concerns about the new semester individually. During the week at the start of the semester, the central contact points of the university offer extended office hours for all students and newly enrolled students. An overview on the central website at the start of the semester shows you the most direct way to discuss your concerns.

At the start of the semester, introductory events are held for the respective degree programs and introductory days for newly enrolled international students at the TU Berlin.

All information on the start of studies and on studying and teaching under pandemic conditions can be found on the central websites. Detailed information on courses can be found in the TU Berlin course catalog.
