Karl-Ziegler-Award 2015 for Helmut Schwarz

The Faculty II is proud to announce that Helmut Schwarz will be honoured with the Karl-Ziegler-Award 2015! Congratulations!

With 50,000 EUR and gold medal the Karl-Ziegler-Award is Germany's highestly endowed prize in chemistry. It is awarded for outstanding achievements in fields of chemistry for which Karl Ziegler, the first chair of the "Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh)" (German Chemical Society), was known for. These are metalorganics, inorganic, organic and applied chemistry as well as polymerchemistry and catalysis.

Professor Helmut Schwarz is one of the internationally leading researchers in the field of molecular chemistry and a professor at TU Berlin sonce 1978. Since 2008, he is also president of the  Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

The bestowal ceremony will take place within the framework of the "GDCh-Wissenschaftsforum" on 30th August 2015 in Dresden.
